About Me

My name is Teresa McQuisten and I own and operate the Eltrym Theater in Baker City with my husband, Dan, and our daughters.

After purchasing the Eltrym in 2008, I started to compile information about the Eltrym Theater's history. As I began to learn about Myrtle Buckmiller, the namesake for the Eltrym, I quickly became absorbed by her story, and the theatrical culture she was a part of before she died in 1940. There is a web of remarkable people and stories tied to the theaters of Baker County, and I want to keep track of those so that this important part of our local history is not lost to time.

I am interested in collecting stories, photographs, old newspaper articles and any other documentation pertaining to theaters in Baker County, the people who were involved in running these theaters, and any theaters connected to any of these people.
